I'm waiting for my results of my English test, which determines what English classes I have to take once I start college

My parents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary today. I am very proud of what they have accoumplished, Especially during a time like this where marriages don't last very long.

My mom and my dad raised 3 kids with one income, dad working and mom staying home, taking care of the children, which wasn't always easy.

They did a wonderful job. They are still in love, looking forward to another 50 years.

 I was glad to be able to be here with them, I could not have asked for better parents.

I guess it's time that I talk about my wonderful vacation I had with Paul, not to long ago.

I never thought that there is a place as beautiful as the one I got to see for one week. I was standing on the balcony of the Park Short Hotel in the morning of our departure with tears in my eyes. I didn't wanna leave. But I thought about the previous week and it made me smile again.

We arrived in Honolulu on Friday night. The view from the airplane was amazing. Lights everywhere. 

The Park Shore Hotel was right at the Waikiki Beach and we occupied a room on the 16th floor with a beautiful view. The beach to the right and Diamond Head in front of us.

Life is great and the best when you can enjoy it without one of them in it!

The day started out really good when David and I took a flight out of Fort Lauderdale with Kansas City, MO as out destination. We changed airplanes in Charlotte, NC. We picked up the rental that I had booked and off we drove to Junction City, KS. It took us about 2 hours to get there. 

We arrived at the storage place and the girl there told us we had to meet a man at the other facility where they keep the cars. So we drove over there, met the man and found out that the car battery was dead. He charged it, but the charge only lasted for about 200". We had to push the car out of the storage facility and left to go get a battery.

Driving all the way through the little town we arrived at a auto place an purchased a battery and some plyers, and headed back to the car. David tried to take the battery out, but it was attached to something else and so we had to go back to the auto place and had to buy a socket wrench.

We went back to the storage facility and David took the battery out and replaced it with the new one. Then we had to drive back to the storage facility and empty the car. Dwayne had left all of his belongings in there and we weren't suppose to take them home, but put them back in storage. We then returned the old battery and left Junction City around 7:30pm.

David drove the VW and I drove the rental car which had to be returned to the airport. We drove for about 10 min when I saw a police car behind us. We both made sure to keep the speed limit since non of us wanted a speeding ticket. The police car followed us for a while and then turned around and headed the other direction.  I was relieved, because who likes to have a police escort. 

But I was mistaken, looking frequently in my rear view mirror I saw a police car with his lights on coming up rather fast. He pulled along side David and had him pull over to the side of the highway. I pulled over too, wondering what was going on. The police officer got out of the car and started talking to David and I sat and didn't dare to get out.

The next thing I see is David getting out of the car being turned around and hand cuffed. I was shocked, still not brave enough to get out of the car and not knowing what was going on was even worse. 

The police officer stayed in the police car with David for a while, got out and started searching the VW. At that point I thought I have to get out and see what's going on. So I got out of the car and walked over to the VW. The police officer stopped his search and I asked him what the problem was. He explained very shortly that the VW had no registration and there was no insurance on it either. He then told me that he found out by checking Davids drivers licinse that the license had been suspended. I told him that we had no clue about the registration, but that the car was insured and that David had straigthened out the problem with the DMV. Unfortunately the police officer wasn't really interested in what I had to say and so I was told that David will go to jail , the car will be towed and I could follow him back to Junction City.  We sat there until about 8:45, until the tow truck arrived and we were headed back to the stupid little town.

I followed the police car to the detention center and got to talk to David for about 2 minutes before he was booked in. The police officer came back and advised me to get a bail bonds man to get David out. Otherwise he would be in there until Monday morning for a court appearance. So I left and called 2 of the bail bonds man whos number I found on the many bill boards advertising their help. The second one I called offered to come to the detention center within 10 minutes. 

I found out that bail was $1000 dollars and payment to the bail bonds man was $100 dollars. We talked about the details and my options. I was sad and angry and had no clue what I had to do next. Not only that the car had been towed and David wouldn't be able to drive, how would we get home and how would the car get home. I knew I would never be able to drive over 20 hours. It was a nightmare.  I called my boyfriend and told him what had happend and also talked to another firiend of mine to get some advise. Then I had to call Justin to get my credit card information since I sure didn't have $1100 dollars in my pocket. Waiting for David was exhausting. In the meantime I was standing watching while about another 10 people were arrested that night. And then finally at 3am David came out. He talked to the bail bonds man, signed some papers and we left. Courtdate was set to be on the 15th of this month.

We went to Denis to eat. We hadn't eaten all day. The place was so busy we had to stand in line and wait to be seated. It took them another half our to bring our food.

Tired and upset we went to a best western to spend what was left of the night only to have to get up early and make some arrangements for the  trip home. David called the insurance company and told them he needed the car towed, since he had free towing and I went on the laptop and registered the car. which was almost $50 dollars. We had breakfast and went to the place where the car had been towed to, to pick it up. The insurance company called them and told them to tow it to wherever we needed it to go, which was up to 26 miles. I paid the fee of $225 dollars for the towing, which was another payment I never expected 

Anyhow the car was towed out of town and we were advised to follow each other rather closely just in case a cop comes around. That way he wouldn't see the expired tag. It was our only way to get the rental car back to the airport. This time I drove the VW, since David didn't have a drivers license anymore, they had taken it away from him. They also never gave him any water nor a blanked and he had to sit on a cold concrete floor while being detained. Talk about a wonderful experience. 

We made it back to the airport ok and went on our way back to Florida, diving the speed limit switching every so often. We actually had a good time then and enjoyed the beauty of Missouri, with all of its nature rock We even stopped at a cavern and rested a little and went for a nature walk, which was very relaxing. 

Our trip took us through Missouri, Tennessee across the Mississippi and we made a stop at Graceland. To bad it was late at night otherwise we would have done some sight seeing. The next state we went through was Alabama and Georgia finally arriving in beautiful Florida. 

David drove all the way to Jacksonville where we visited with his children. We took them out for lunch and really enjoyed the little bit of time we had with them. Leaving them was sad, but we had to go home, running late on our schedule as it is. Getting out of Jacksonville we drove straight into a very bad thunderstorm and it got so bad that I had to stop and let David drive. My eyes were burning and I needed a rest.

Paul kept me company messaging me and giving me my smile back. The rain finally let up when we got to Palm Beach County. We picked up Gina and went home, arriving at the house almost 28 hours after we left the airport in Kansas City.

I am very sorry that this had to happen to David, he's always there when I need him. He got in contact with an attorney and went to the DMV only to find out that there was nothing wrong with his license. The attorney will take the case using the bail money I posted and David should have no problems what so ever to get out of this with no charges. He was arrested for nothing and all of it would not have happened if Dwayne would have taken care of the registration.

I've learned another thing on this trip. Never to go back to Kansas and never to rely on someone else. Always dobble check and make sure everything has been taken care off.

The exhibition.

It seemed very interesting at first, but after seing a documentary about it, I didn't think it was ethical to put humans on display like that and if it hadn't been for my friend I would have never seen the exhibition. We took a look at all the displays, some of them fascinating, some of them a bit shocking, like a smokers lung, but in the end I was very much impressed and can only recommend the exhibition to anyone.... go and see the bodies 

I started a new collection. This is one that doesn't cost anything, will not take up any space, makes me happy and keeps me smiling. I am going to update the collection as it grows. If you want to add anything please feel free to send me a message and I'll be happy to it to my collection.

Have you ever bought a car in the dark? Well I did. I went car shopping yesterday with my son and my granddaughter. We drove around and looked and couldn't find anything. I had called someone about a Suzuki and they told me I could stop by at any time, well when I called he told me he wouldn't be there until 6:30pm. So we called Cecille and she came with Sharla and we went to the OUtback to kill time. It got late and it got dark. So by the time we finally arrived at the guys house, daylight was gone. He gave us the key and let us take the car for a ride. I liked it and so I bought it. Now you are gonna think I'm nuts, well maybe I am. So what, that's life.

Anyway, while being at the Outback Hailey had her drink and she told the waitress that her mom didn't want her to drink it all. So she asked the waitress to take it with her and to put it in her fridge to keep it cold. We were all laughing, she's so funny.
